STUDIO WORK
DRAWING
In my drawing practice, I gravitate towards graphite and charcoal to capture the essence of the physical human experience. The ephemeral nature of the mediums speaks to each experience we have in our own bodies and while interacting with others.
PAINT & PRINT
Paint and printmaking is where I usually explore color in my artwork. This work is inspired by sentimental moments for myself and others. I also use painting as a tool to further explore themes of my sculptural work from a different perspective.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The majority of my photography is about relationships with spaces. The lack of people in most of these images is not for a lack of human influence or presence. Removing instinctive emotional cues from the scenery is an intentional effort to allow unique associations and preserve spatial memory.
POWERFUL WOMEN SERIES
This series was dedicated and created by the memories of powerful women. Each participant was selected based on their commitment to honoring powerful female forces in their everyday life. I asked them to answer a few questions about the role of powerful women in their lives as well as more direct questions about a specific person they would like to honor. The final images are the results of layering individual snapshots from our conversation.
SCULPTURE
My sculptural work is an ongoing exploration of processing the heavier moments of human interaction. They all have varying lifespans and degrees of interaction.
